I came here for a solo exhibition so the tables were cleared out, but what a nice clean area to display an artist's works! It's not a very large venue but I feel it was very good use of space. The lighting was perfect, and the owner was very cordial. She let us run a small tab as we snacked on appetizers that were catered in. I had a glass of the house malbec that was very delightful and inexpensive ($5.00). I would highly recommend this location for other artists and patrons.

The Wine Bar and Art Gallery is cute little space that is located right next to David Thoreson's Blue Water Studios. In fact, these businesses are connected inside. And with so much good art popping up within the Iowa Great Lakes Region, why not have a comfortable wine bar experience as well? The space itself is a bit on the small side and there is some limited outdoor seats available. Inside is lots of art including representation from Bogenrief studios and other hand-blown glass, some interesting wall art, pottery, and jewelry. On the wine side, things are unpretentious, friendly, fun, and sometimes with a side of live entertainment during those warm summer evenings. The Henry David Thoreau quote on the front door reads, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined." So why not do so at the Wine Bar and Art Gallery with good art, good wine and good friends?

This is a fun place to drink great wine or choose from a large selection of craft beer. Cozy and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like your transported to a tiny hip bar in Paris. Thursday nights have live music out on the patio and local art work for purchase. This is a seasonal business which is limited in hours, call ahead to ask about their hours. Like the Wine Bar and Art Gallery Facebook page to keep up with their events and hours. Saturday nights are a full house in mid summer - so come early! The gourmet cupcakes are amazing! A great place to find locals or tourist alike and a different option from the party bars down the street.
